It is a white powder, soluble in acid, hardly soluble in water, insoluble in methanol and propanone. Its relative density is 2.653. The melting point is 848℃. It reacts with HF to form LiHF2.

Can lithium fluoride be stored in glass containers?

 Dry lithium fluoride is fine to be stored in glass bottles for a short period of time. However, for long-term or high-purity applications, it must be stored in plastic containers. Never store it in glass for an extended period.

Is Lithium Fluoride easy to cake ?

Lithium fluoride does not deliquesce or form lumps easily. It has excellent stability and is one of the most easily stored varieties among fluorine salts.However, it must be strictly isolated from acidic substances for storage.
