Store with seal hermetically, keeps away from moisture and avoid being exposed to the sun.
Net 25kg bags.
Is potassium fluoride prone to deliquescence and forming lumps? How should it be stored?
Potassium fluoride is very easy to obtain and is a typical hygroscopic fluorine salt. After absorbing moisture, it not only becomes lumpy but also undergoes slight hydrolysis, resulting in a decrease in the effective content and an increase in impurities.
It must be strictly sealed.
It must be protected from moisture.
Avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight.
Store separately and keep away from acids and alkalis.
The containers should be made of plastic or lined with plastic.
Glass containers are strictly prohibited (as they can be corroded).
Why can potassium fluoride "corrode glass"?
FAIRSKY Potassium fluoride will produce fluoride ions (F⁻) in aqueous solution or in a humid environment. These fluoride ions will react chemically with the silicon dioxide (SiO₂) in the glass, causing the glass to "dissolve" and thus appearing to be corroded.
Why is potassium fluoride indispensable in electroplating / surface treatment ?
It is the most stable, safest and cost-effective "fluoride ion provider", and fluoride ions are indispensable activators and film-forming aids in modern chromium-free passivation, zirconation, ceramicization, and electroplating pretreatment processes.
Safer than hydrofluoric acid, non-volatile, and non-irritating
Has a higher solubility and better activity than sodium fluoride
Potassium ions have no side effects or interference with film formation for most systems
Cheap, easy to purchase, and easy to store.
