Molybdenum Trioxide
Formula: MoO₃
CAS No.: 1313-27-5
M.W.: 143.94
Properties:
White or slightly yellow crystalline powder. It is stable at room temperature and insoluble in water, but soluble in alkaline solutions. It sublimates when strongly heated and can be reduced to lower-valence molybdenum oxides or metallic molybdenum. With strong oxidizing properties, MoO₃ is a key intermediate in molybdenum chemistry.
Application:
Widely used as raw material for producing molybdenum metal and molybdenum alloys. It is also applied in catalysts (such as desulfurization catalysts), pigments, ceramics, enamel, glass decolorizing agents, flame retardants, and electrode materials. An essential intermediate for manufacturing high-purity molybdenum compounds.
Storage:
Store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from moisture and strong reducing agents.
Packing:
25Kg woven bags, kraft bags with inner liner, or steel drums according to customer requirements.
