Manganous Oxide details Product Details

Manganous Oxide Properties Properties

Manganous Oxide is grass green or gray green cubic crystal powder or octahedral crystal. The relative density is 5.43~5.46. The melting point is 1650°C. Dissociation and sublimation at 3400℃. Insoluble in water, soluble in acid and ammonium chloride. In the hot concentrated ammonium chloride solution, manganese chloride and ammonia are formed.

Manganous Oxide Application Application

Used as a catalyst, feed auxiliary, trace element fertilizer, also used in medicine, smelting, welding, dry battery manufacturing, etc.

Manganous Oxide Storage Storage

Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, and edible chemicals, and avoid mixed storage. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain the leakage.

Manganous Oxide Packing Packing

25kg net, Paper/PE complex bags with double PE inners.

Manganous Oxide FAQ Manganous Oxide FAQ

How is the stability of the MnO ?

The chemical properties are unstable and it is highly prone to oxidation. In the air and humid environment, it will gradually be oxidized to higher-valent manganese oxides such as manganese(II) oxide (Mn₂O₃), manganese(III) oxide (Mn₃O₄), and manganese(II) oxide (MnO₂). Therefore, it needs to be stored in a sealed container to prevent contact with air.

What does MnO do in the ceramics ?

As an inorganic manganese-based colorant material, it is used for firing brown, brownish-red, and dark purple-black ceramic glazes, floor tiles glazes, daily-use ceramics and industrial ceramics; at the same time, it can reduce the firing temperature of the glaze and improve the density of the glaze surface.

What are the seurity regulation for workers?

Dust can irritate the respiratory tract, skin and eyes. Long-term excessive inhalation of manganese compounds can lead to manganese poisoning and damage to the nervous system. It is recommended to wear a dust mask, goggles and rubber gloves, and ensure proper ventilation and dust removal.
